#Comic No.109 & 110:Sunehri Rajkumari and Teesmarkhan

*******************************************************************
Friends as i have already mentioned that this year has been quite productive for me in terms of comics,so on the same note very recently i found some of the rare missing Indrajals of mine such as No.4,5,12,13,15,18 etc...

Indrajal No.18 was not available on the net anywhere in any language up till now, therefore here its Hindi version for all of you.
This is a comic version of Sunday Strip No.12 which spanned from 14th January to 24th June 1945.The strip has been already posted at Prabhat's blog which can be downloaded from there.

Since its cover was missing hence its English version cover(courtesy:ICC) has been posted.I have asked Raj to provide its Hindi version cover(if he is having),hope he will respond positively.

Excellent job once again CW. A rare indrajal with a special manoj chitra katha. MCK were very good indeed in those years. I remember reading many of those in big page format.

Loved this post.

Venkit here -

Good post. Downloading it as this is the one "digitized" comic, I am missing before #100. I can read and speak Hindi, but not my kids. So will keep looking for someone to come up with the English one.

Keep up the good work.

TPH: Thanks TPH.Yeah, the very early MCKs,specially those with cover designed by C.M.Vitankar were really a delight to read.
Vitankar's painted covers used to be of high quality which can be superbly witnessed in this very post, pls notice the amazed/scary look on the lion's face.

Qasim: I am working to bring out your request.

Venkit: Welcome here Venkit, your collection is amazing if you are missing only 1 Indrajal out of 803.

Hi Z. Would you post a couple of pages just so I can see why you love MCKs so much? :-)

Venkit here -

A slight clarification. My note said that this was one missing "digitized" comic under #100. I lost my comic book collection before the number 100.
I have held on to all the remaining till the end. Those are the ones that I am sharing now with all Indrajaal lovers.

I do have a color version of the Golden Princess in English. But it is not an Indrajal Comic. I had downloaded it from somewhere.

Thanks once agin for the good work.

Buddy it was the very first MCK I had read though as a six year old I did not care to note the name of the writer or artist. As you are aware that I cannot download the comics due to some official limitations, please tell me the name of the writer and artist of this classic. Yesterday I had read Phantom-30 of D/C. It carried the story of III Phantom who was sent to India by an emporer to pick up beautiful princess Pura for her marriage to that emporer but in the way IIIrd Phantom and princess fell in love and IIIrd Phantom married her despite all odds from the emporer. The name of the story if Diamond Cup of Alexander. Can you tell the details of the story whether it was a Sunday/Daily, period of publication and artist etc. This has a beautiful cover designed by one Mr. Gupta. The Phanto/Mandrake digests of Diamond comics sometimes had also very beautiful cover but they were never credited and it is very difficult to know the names of the artists who drew them. But the cover of this comic is very good. Apart from Mr. Gupta I also found covers designed by Mr. Adil for DC Phantom Comics very beautiful. There are ohter beautiful covers by other artists as well but as I mentioned earlier they were never credited and the artists also did not mention their names on the covers and hence you do not know who drew them. Prabhat's Books & Comics posted an English M/M. It is a pleasant surprise for me to see English M/M. Previously, I was not aware that M/M were published in English as well. I am sending you a blank message on your E-mail. If you can spare your valuable time for sending the Diwana scans to me. Thanks again for reading such a long comment.

S.B: Dear Friend, unfortunately Teesmarkhan doesn't carry the names of its illustrator or writer. The illustrations are also of some known artist whose name i am not able to recall at the moment, but this illustrator certainly has drawn many comics in MCKs.
The Phantom story which you read in DC-30 is actually the comicised version of Sunday story No.122 which ran from 26th August 84' to 17th Feb.85'.It was written by obviously Lee Falk and drwan by great Sy Barry. An interesting fact associated with this story is that some part of this story happen to took place in our 'India',that Sultan, friend of Phantom, sends him to bring her fiancee from India, which you might have noted in that story.
But when this story was published by Indrajal comics(Vol.23.No.17-18),the name of 'India' was replaced by 'Xenia' due to some political/diplomatic reasons which seems totally irrelevent now.
Yeah, some of the Phantom DC covers were really good but most of the time they were really pathetic. These covers were designed by a no.of small time artists hence complete information about them is not available.
M/M also used to be published in English but i think of some special issues only. The M/M posted at Prabhat's blog is infact a collection of selected stories taken from old regular issues of M/M only.
I have mailed you scans of Deewana as well as of Teesmarkhan also.Pls check.

Buddy you have large collection of magazines like IWI(Illustrated Weekly of India), Parag and Lot Pot etc. If you can post the comic pages of IWI, Old advertisements (as you did in one your older posts) please post them. IWI also used to publish cartoons by R.K. Lakshan and Mario and if possible post them as well. Also try to post the comic pages of Parag and Lot Pot in the same manner in which you posted comic pages of Bal Bharti. By the way while searching in your old posts I came across sketches drawn by you of Big B, Rajnikant and Sanjay Dutt. Man you are a artist to rackon with! If you have drawn some more if post them as well.

Comic World said...

Anon: If you are talking about MCK then C.M.Vitankar is the artist of its cover, and of Indrajal comic B.Govind is the artist.

Comic World said...

S.B: Welcome dear.Well,i also love to post ads, cartoons, comic
pages from old magazines such as IWI etc.I will be sorting out more such features from Illustrated Weekly for posting.
Thanks for the appreciative words for my sketches, sketching was also one of my hobby in teenage but from a long time i didn't held pencil in my hands. These sketches are of that time when i was just trying my hands on movie stars pics.I remember that Sanjay Dutt sketch is drawn from one of his stills from the movie "Mardon Wali Baat"
I will be searching out for my old sketch book to find any more of such sketches.
